CRAIG O'BRIEN - CLIENT SERVICES ASSOCIATE

I was raised in Cork, Ireland, which is right down the bottom of the country. Growing up in Cork City went hand in hand with wanting to play hurling for Cork and win an All-Ireland for the county. Throughout school, this was always the goal, but I was lucky to have parents who insisted I also got the grades required to go to university (even if that did require the gentle threat of hiding my boots or hurleys now and then).

While doing my leaving certificate in Gaelcholáiste Mhuire A.G., I found business to be one of my favourite subjects. This led to me studying for a Bachelor of Business at Munster Technological University. During my university internship, I was very lucky to be placed on a great team at Marlboro Trust. I was an assistant to the Financial Controller of the organisation and consequently received insights into all aspects of finance. This sparked a massive interest in me. When I graduated from university, I moved to Liverpool in England shortly after the COVID restrictions were lifted and worked in a compliance role for BDO. Working for such a big organization as BDO was a great experience and gave me further insight into the world of finance. I knew this was the sector I wanted to work in and build a future for myself.

I moved to Perth in December 2023, met Rob Pyne in June, and had a very enjoyable conversation. This experience gave me great excitement about joining the team at HPH. I look forward to furthering my knowledge and being part of a company that is evolving at the rate HPH is.
